I’ve been dreaming of going to Milan, the city of fashion and shopping. This year Milan is holding the Milano Expo 2015 themed Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life. And of course I had to take a visit, where people from all over the world come together sharing their favourite dishes and showcasing their technology to conserve energy.
My favourite food at the EXPO was the Belgium fries and beer. You can never go wrong with Belgium beer on a hot summer day. 😉
And of course I had to try some Korean food. I loved their Makguli, a Korean rice wine.
And I hear that Sicily (in the photo above) has great food.
It’s almost impossible to see all of EXPO in one day so I suggest you plan several days to see everything. I hears Sicilian food in EXPO is amazing. There’s also Michelin star chefs from France cooking at the French pavilion. Just be aware that the food at the EXPO is very pricy and you can get delicious food in Milan for much cheaper.
And the best part of the EXPO was the Cirque du Soleil. We were a bit late and didn’t get to sit at the best seats so make sure to arrive at least 15 min before the show. You can get more expensive ticket to sit near the stage but there’s no assigned seats. In fact, there’s no real seats – just long benches outdoor where people squash together to sit.
I had a great time at the EXPO and was a little sad that I didn’t have more time to explore. I think it’s a great place for foodies and families with school-aged children to visit.
I Hope you guys enjoyed this post and I promise to blog about Milan and Venice soon! 🙂
{last but not least, greetings from the expo pigs! 😉 }
