[Restaurant Review] Gabrielle in Paris

Hubby and I ventured out to dine at Sud-Ouest Monceau after hearing wonderful stories about the place from my fellow food-loving boss.  I am sad to announce the place is closed for the next few months so I’ll have to come visit again.  I really liked the town – much less crowded than the touristy areas and it seemed to be in a slightly upscale neighborhood where people dressed ‘preppy’.

In our journey to find a good restaurant nearby we stumbled into Gabrielle and instantly fell in love with Paris all over again.  I loved the laid back atmosphere with people dining outside enjoying the summer breeze.  We ordered a salad and steak and both were absolutely delicious and I ate every bite of the meal, not leaving any leftovers.  If English food is minimal in seasoning to cherish the true nature of each food, French food is generous with seasonings and spices.  Also, anyone should stick to drinking wine in Paris as it’s cheaper than ordering a bottle of water 😉
